BASELINE ASSESSMENTS OF THE FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC SAFETY OF REGIONS OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The main factors, external and internal factors, as existing (positive or negative) or potentially possible phenomena or processes that have a direct or indirect eff ect on the fi nancial and economic security of regions under
certain conditions are considered in this paper. Also, threats and other components that shape the environment of the existence of a regional economy. In addition, the study outlines the importance of identifying threats and their
timely elimination as a priority area of economic research in order to ensure the fi nancial and economic security of the regions. Th e study notes that since the regional level is an intermediate link between the state and business entities,
the neglect of the state of fi nancial and economic security of the region scan lead to threats to the country’s economic security and aff ect its level of security, as well as to make eff ective state economic policy impossible.Th us, the need to
assess the fi nancial and economic security of the regions and determine its impact on the country’s economic security has been identified, which will enable to form such a mechanism for ensuring the fi nancial and economic security
of the regions and to justify ways of strengthening, taking into account the specifi cs of each of them. The stages of assessment of fi nancial and economic security of regions are revealed. It is determined that achievement of criterial
requirements for any type of security is realized through a system of indicators, the types of which are allocated in the study taking into account the regional level. Th e article clarifi es the concept of fi nancial and economic security of the
regions, analyzes its level, infl uence on the economic security of the state, the necessity of forming a mechanism for providing fi nancial and economic security of the regions and proposing its strengthening is substantiated theoretically.
